While Archaeology of Contemporary Desire investigates the traces of contemporary desire through objects, memories, and the systems of value constructed by society, <Cartographies of Belonging> explores another dimension of desire—the desire for home, for rootedness, and for a sense of belonging in the world.

In an era defined by unprecedented mobility across cities, nations, and social contexts, the idea of “home” extends far beyond a physical location. It encompasses emotional territories, memories, relationships, and the conditions through which individuals come to feel connected to something larger than themselves.

The works in this series bring together narratives of migration, displacement, adaptation, and the construction of new roots within unfamiliar environments.

From the experiences of individuals rebuilding their lives in foreign countries, to landscapes of home preserved only through memory, to places and moments gradually fading beneath the accelerated pace of contemporary life, each work reflects a different negotiation between movement and belonging.

At the same time, several works turn inward, examining the psychological landscape of contemporary existence through everyday objects, nocturnal imagery, and symbols of survival. These elements reveal vulnerability, solitude, and the ongoing search for emotional stability within an increasingly uncertain world.

Viewed collectively, the works function as emotional cartographies of contemporary desire, recording traces of individuals searching for the meaning of “home” in a world where everything is in constant motion.
